Admission Requirements

An applicant with a bachelors degree in the biological sciences, physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, economics, sociology and other social sciences may be admitted to the Environmental Science program.  

An applicant must submit to the Graduate School the following requirement for admission:

  1. Original and a photocopy of the official transcript of academic records, in English language, with no remarks and with an explanation of the grading system used, from all tertiary and graduate institutions attended;
  2. For international students, certification from the Office of the University Registrar of the previous university attended that the medium of instruction is English (if applicable), or results of Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or results of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or its equivalent;
  3. Application fee (may be paid by bank transfer or postal money order); and
  4. Sealed letters of references from two former professors, superiors or colleagues

Additionally, SESAM requires the MS Environmental Science applicant to submit a 2-page maximum concept note of the proposed study. An applicant for Ph.D. in Environmental Science will submit a statement of research interest or research proposal. Statement of research interest should include reasons for undertaking graduate work at UPLB-SESAM. Statement of research proposal should include: statement of the problem, the significance of the research, research questions, objectives, theory that you would like to explore or use to address the research questions, and methodologies.
